Some New Interviews - and Unanswered Questions - about the Bill Cosby case
There are still so many troubling things about the Bill Cosby case, which is why Laura Richards and I had plenty to talk about on her podcast Crime Analyst this week and last.
You can listen to Part One here: https://www.crime-analyst.com/103-the-crime-analyst-ep-103-forensically-deconstructing-bill-cosby-with-nicki-weisensee-egan-part-1/ and Part 2, which came out yesterday, here: https://www.crime-analyst.com/104-the-crime-analyst-ep-104-forensically-deconstructing-bill-cosby-with-nicki-weisensee-egan-part-2/.
One of the things we discuss in Part 2 is the still-inexplicable decision by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to free Cosby on July 30, 2021, which I’ve been writing about here and elsewhere. In our interview I mentioned that Andrew Wyatt, Cosby’s spokesman, told Cosby shortly after his release that “Nik” told him a week prior that Cosby was going to be released that week and he should get to Pennsylvania. You can hear that conversation yourself in the first video here:
I immediately suspected (and Wyatt later confirmed to me) he was referring to Nik “the Hat” Hatziefstahio, who worked for YC News, a mysterious publication that sprung up after Cosby’s arrest and has published a lot of negative stories about Andrea Constand, the woman Cosby was convicted of drugging and sexually assaulting.
But how in the world did Nik know a week ahead of time? I couldn’t ask him because he’s currently serving two to four years in prison for sending a fake racist email, though YC News still lists him as the editor in chief on the website. (Interestingly, former Montgomery County DA Bruce Castor is his attorney for his appeal.) I still sent a message via his Twitter account since the account says YC News is monitoring it but haven’t heard back. In the meantime, I asked Wyatt how Nik knew so far in advance.
“Nik used an educated guess to calculate the dates after oral arguments in December 2020 and he checked the PA State Supreme Court website everyday,” Wyatt wrote me in an email. “He did what’s expected as an investigative journalist.”
Setting aside the fact that the PA Supreme Court has no time limit for ruling on cases, Nik didn’t just know about the decision coming, he knew Cosby was going to be released, which is not the norm in these cases, as I’ve written and spoken about before.
A couple of hours later, after I sent that message to Nik’s Twitter account, Wyatt emailed me a more detailed (and heated) response, which I’m including since we weren’t able to include it in the podcast:
“I hope that this email finds you in good spirits and in a calm frame of mind, in order to digest a few historical sound-bites of the real significant truth and facts surrounding Mr. Cosby. Mr. Cosby has spent more than 50 years standing with the excluded; made it possible for some to be included; standing with the disenfranchised; and standing with those women and men who were denied respectful work…because of race and gender…within the expanses of the entertainment industry. Those are the real significant truth and facts. On June 27, 1973, Mr. Cosby was number 126 on “Nixon’s Enemies List,” which included the tapping of home/office phones as well as 24/7 surveillance of Mr. Cosby, his family and his friends. Those are the real significant truth and facts. Perhaps, this powerful Black Man had mystical powers to drug and rape White Women under the watchful eyes of the FBI according to your fictitious accounts of him. Those seem to be your manufactured truth and facts of Mr. Cosby and probably of most Black Successful Men. You along with your media cohorts like Ms. Laura Richards (Host of Crime Analyst) have this deep-rooted obsession with Mr. Cosby and the both of you have distorted and omitted truths — intentionally. Those are the real significant truth and facts. Despite your repetitive reports of allegations against Mr. Cosby, none have ever been proven in any court of law. Those are the real significant truth and facts. In June, 2021, the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court released Mr. Cosby; and the court’s late Chief Justice Max Baer defined the Pennsylvania Montgomery County District Attorney’s behavior as reprehensible. Those are the real significant truth and facts. Mr. Cosby still vehemently denies are allegations waged against him; he knows that the Constitution is not perfect; but it has been declared as the protector for fairness and equality for all Americans in these United States. Those are the real significant truth and facts and I employ you and Ms. Laura Richards to try those recipes and the both of you just might get bored with journalistic malpractice. Thank you. “
Curiouser and curiouser.
